Audio Clips: Audio Editor

The Audio Editor opens when you double-click an audio clip on the Arrangement Timeline. It displays the waveform of the clip and provides tools for editing its contents at the sample level.

Using the Split tool from the Tool Bar, a clip can be split into individual Samples inside the Audio Editor. These samples can be freely rearranged within the clip without changing its position or length on the timeline.

Actions

  • Reverse: Plays the selected sample in reverse.
  • Bounce in Place: Renders the clip and all its samples into a single new audio file, with all Pitch Editor, Gain Editor, and Reverse changes applied. The result replaces the current clip in place.

Editors

  • Pitch Editor (toggle): Enables a horizontal line over the waveform. Drag it up or down to adjust the pitch of the selected sample in semitones.
  • Gain Editor (toggle): Enables a horizontal line over the waveform. Drag it up or down to adjust the loudness of the selected sample in decibels.
  • Horizontal Zoom Slider: Drag right to zoom in, drag left to zoom out along the horizontal axis.
  • Vertical Zoom Slider: Drag up to zoom in along the vertical axis.
  • Scrollbar: Drag to navigate along the timeline.
