3.7 Sound Library

The Sound Library is a panel on the right side of the Studio for browsing and loading content into your project. It provides access to all types of assets available in Amped Studio: free content included with your subscription, your own saved files and recordings, and purchased sample packs. Audio and MIDI assets dragged from the Sound Library onto the Arrangement Timeline become Clips.

Tabs

  • Sounds: A searchable database of individual audio clips, MIDI clips, and Smart Clips from across all available content.
  • Packs: Browses content organized by curated collections.
  • My Files: Contains your own uploaded samples, recordings, and saved clips.

Note: The diamond icon marks content exclusive to Premium and Premium + AI subscription tiers.

Filters

Click the Filter icon to reveal filter options. Multiple filters can be applied simultaneously. Click Clear All to reset.

  • Clip Type: Filters by clip format.
    • Audio Clips: One-shot samples or loops.
    • MIDI Clips: Note data played back by a virtual instrument.
    • Smart Clips: MIDI note data or Audio Sample saved together with instrument and effect chain settings.
  • Instrument Type: Filters by sound category (e.g., Drums, Bass, Synth, Vocals).
  • BPM: Filters by tempo range. Enter values manually or use the range slider, then click Apply.
  • Key: Filters by root note and scale. Select Major or Minor, choose a note, and click Apply.
  • Genre: Filters by musical style (e.g., Lo-Fi, Techno, Pop).

💡 Pro Tip: Collect your own Smart Clips. As you work in Amped Studio, save your favorite basslines, chord progressions, and sequences as Smart MIDI Clips to build a personal collection of ready-made building blocks. Unlike regular Audio Clips, they remain fully editable. Unlike regular MIDI Clips, they carry all instrument and effect chain settings alongside the note data. Working from your own saved sounds also eliminates the time spent browsing unfamiliar content.
